| Some Kindred are experts at putting the kine at ease, using a disarming smile or a rapier wit to disguise the flat, predatory luster in their eyes. Aleksandr Ivanov is not one of those Kindred. His roiling, oppressive aura is almost palpable even to the supernaturally unattuned, and he seems like the kind of person who was mostly dead inside even before his blood was replaced with Vitae. The man beneath the rough exterior appears every bit as monstrous, but further inspection reveals a profound dedication to a very particular set of ideals. Sasha wants the Kindred of New York to thrive, and considers any means acceptable for achieving that nebulous goal. He's also not entirely incapable of affection, especially for some of the more wide-eyed neonates among the Firebrands.

| Circle of Accountability: Any Kindred worth the name knows that the All Night Society is based on constant mutual surveillance. There are more than two million rats in New York City, and countless other vermin besides. Odds are one of them is looking at you right now. Why does it have that look in its eyes?
Systema: Sasha predates the actual martial art by about a century, but he's picked up more than a few tricks in his time, and he's perfectly willing to teach out-of-shape kine how to twist each other's arms a few evenings a week for walking-around money. For a certain kind of martial arts enthusiast, his unsettling presence is a bonus.
"If the kind Vladimir Ilyich were here...": Sasha remembers the October Revolution with nostalgic fondness, and if you catch him in a good mood at Elysium he'll regale you with stories of pulling Tsarists off their horses and debating natural philosophy with Lenin himself. His stories often conflict with or outright contradict each other, but if challenged he'll forcefully insist that they possess a greater, revolutionary truth.
