| Ronan Butler was better known as the gentle giant in his youth; a collector of protection money for the Irish mob in the early 80's that people didn't usually mind speaking to. When he got older the man grew dark and violent. He disappeared from the city for a long time, but when he came back, about 15 years ago, he'd gone through the first change already. He now spends his time preaching to the less fortunate; sinners and beggars. Sex workers know he'll stop them from being harmed, shop owners can call on him if gangs get too greedy, and even the gangs come to him when they need to meet on impartial ground. He secures peace by whatever means necessary and as such has earned the respect of many criminals without really needing to get his hands dirty metaphorically. In a literal sense, he'll beat the hell right out of someone. The religious ones come to him for confession due to his loose interpretation of the laws of man (the ten commandments).

- Need to confess your sins and ease your burden? Deacon Butler, though he prefers to be called Brother or just Ronan, can help you. He runs the AA and NA meetings for the church to assist the Reverend Father and sometimes steps in to preach if the Father is ill. Got a particular sin you can't stop committing? There might be more to it than addiction. He can help with that too.
- Got a project and you need an extra set of hands? Just ask Ronan. If he hasn't already promised that time to someone else it's probably yours. He's even happy just to come to the store and reach stuff off the high shelf.
