- Like Mother like.... - Kelly is the daughter of Mary Alice Byrd, the founder and, to some of the Uratha and Wolf-Blooded of New York, the near-mythical Wolf-Blooded alpha of Byrd House. Depending on who you talk to, Mary Alice is either beloved or infamous (I mean, story that she shot an Uratha in the head with a silver bullet, and if that’s the kind of thing you’re going to base a pack on… ), and either way, it’s a lot to live up to. Speaking of…
- Byrd House? More like Hen House, amirite? - Kelly has been the alpha of Byrd House for twenty years now and she takes direction of the pack with a gentler lead than it was rumored that Mary Alice did. This has lead to greater interpack cooperation with her neighbors and the city at large becoming more comfortable with the all Wolf-Blood pack, but it’s also lead to some of the Wolves, and even some of the Wolf-Blooded, of the area to deem her the alpha of Hen House - a derogatory way of saying that, with Kelly at the helm, Byrd House is beginning to lose its edge.
- Song to Sing - Soul-in-Song, the previous totem of Byrd House, was proven a traitor to the People, along with Kelly's daughter, Allison, leading to the death of Jerome Kent. It's taken time for Kelly to recover, and part of that was adopting a new totem for Byrd House: Swan Song, a black swan that brings a chill with it whenever it arrives. No one is sure how to take this new arrival, or what it might mean for the pack.
