Kai lives on the move. Why he came to New York and how long he's been here is anyone's guess, but most have never noticed him, and he likes it that way. It's unclear whether he actually havens in New York, or if he drifts in and out. Mab had him arrested for siring without their permission, but rather than kill him or his childe, they chose to accept the childe into the court and keep Kai himself in torpor for the duration of their reign and released him before leaving the city. Perhaps the leniency was owed to their shared clan, or relative age, but only Mab knows their reasons.

- AUTARKIS - Kai is no politician, he doesn't aspire to even be a member of Kindred society. He wants to be left alone, and he avoids other Kindred and their territories.
- ELDER - He’s the apex predator among predators. He’s been running with the Beast for centuries, and doesn’t care to remember what his life was like before his copilot joined him. Violence and intimidation are second nature; he’s used to being the biggest, meanest thing on his turf. On the few occasions when he isn’t, he deals with it poorly, lashing out or going to ground without a plan or any concern for how his behavior affects others. Unfortunately, the nature of the Beast is to decay when starved, and torpor is unkind. No Gangrel who survives to become an elder has truly succumbed to mindless instinct, though, and these supreme hunters can learn to swallow their pride until they regain the edge.
- NOMAD - Nobody is sure when Kai showed up in New York, but he was first noticed a year before Mab left the city. The majority of kindred never knew he was there at all, even as he was in the custody of former Sheriff Dazai. Since his release, he has felt the urge to leave the city behind, but something has kept him nearby nonetheless.
