Some Kindred do their best to hold on to their humanity, to remain decent people in the wake of becoming monsters. David takes this stance to the extreme, accusing most of his fellows in the All Night Society of being guilty of terrible crimes. It's hard to argue with him when you consider some of the steps that Kindred take to achieve their goals - steps that David considers to be unneccessary. Though he realises few are willing to genuinely listen to him and his pleas for a better society, he understands that no Kindred can be an island, and so does attend Elysium from time to time. Perhaps he's just a masochist like that?
